NOTICE

On Feb 6, 2013, H. Cecile Gracey died peacefully at the age of 80. She met her death with the same faith that she lived her life, and went with the greatest peace and tranquility. May she rest in peace.

A book is being written about the story of H. Cecile Gracey and the home schooling movement. If you are interested, please become a following of this site, and you will be contacted when the book goes into print.

Thank you.

Where it all started

The woman who cared enough to risk all
It has become common today, the Home Schooling movement. Somehow, one person who contributed greatly to this right has been forgotten. And she paid dearly. Mom.

We are building up this site as a tribute to a brave woman who defied the odds to do what she believed was right. We are taking texts from newspaper reports, diaries, and our own memories. Some day, we will publish a book of this account.

You need to know that not all the brave women out there took up banners and marched. Some stayed home and suffered. Some used every means at their disposal, and still failed in the eyes of the world. But in the end, the Home Schooling movement gained momentum, and has become an accepted form of alternate education.

Take time to thank my mother. For she fought for this right for all parents. She deserves to be remembered.
